To all NBA 2K10 diehard fans and players out there!

First of all I am one myself. And, needless to say, you all know by now that 2Ksports published an update for the original version of the game, and thus disabled the internet connectivity option for the old versions of the game, making only the updated version capable of connecting to the internet and updating in-game stats and data. And thousands of people, including myself, ran into a lot of trouble while trying to successfully update the game and reactivate its internet connectivity option. And after finding the perfect combination of  actions to do in a certain order, I managed to make it work again like before, with the update installed and internet connection working altogether. And I decided to share right here for those of you who are still facing problems while trying to update their versions of the game:

  1. First of all, download the initial official patch from any of sites it is featured on. Here is one :

  1. counter-strikeCounter Strike: Too famous to mention, this game has been, since its first version release back in 1997, the most dominant network game in the PC world, despite (and thanks to) its really basic concept. The classic Terrorist versus Counter-Terrorist  Seriously,  I’ve almost never seen any desktop in my life that doesn’t have some version of CS on it. This game has become so essential on every PC that Microsoft ought to start incorporating it into their Windows  folder with every new release. Preferred version of the game : 1.6  (most professional version and has the best gameplay).
  2. Grand Theft Auto (GTA) San Andreas: Rockstar Games simply took their game to a whole new level with San Andreas. As its prequels showed, the whole game concept kept evolving crazily with each new version, until finally, the epitome of Rockstar’s creations was created. Rocketing towards the first rank and best game rating in many official game reviews, San Andreas is by far the best 3rd person game out there. And GTA IV has been said to be even greater, even though i never got the chance to get familiar with it. By the way, don’t forget to check out the online Multiplayer mod of this game, it’s pretty cool as well. (*Also, if you’re a big 3rd person shooter fan, Max Payne 1&2 is a must-have because of its utmost awesomeness*).
  3. Diablo 2 – Lord Of Destruction: Just like fine wine, this game – and this very version of the game – just keeps getting better with time. With such an awesome and solid storyline, Diablo 2 simply still owns every RPG game out there, especially after the release of its expansion pack, the Lord Of Destruction. Seriously, let all that Warcraft, Starcraft, etc shit go, Diablo is the only game among those of its kind with an interesting, and considerably realistic story, and awesome gameplay. And if such a considerably old version of the game rules so much, imagine what the upcoming Diablo 3 will be like.I’m definitely looking forward to this game, so should you!
  4. Need For Speed Most Wanted: Among the really long, never-ending Need For Speed series, Most Wanted definitely has the best and smoothest PC experience. Being rejected and considered pretty monotonic and ‘below normal’ by many fans, this version of the game is probably the most underrated among its prequels and sequels (Yes, it is a hell lot cooler than the lame-ass new “Undercover”). With its full gameplay features, ranging from the awesome police chase experience, day-time races, extremely wide range of cars to choose from, and of course its awesome LAN play experience, Need For Speed Most Wanted owns every other racing game of its generation out there, and even ‘younger’ ones! Definitely a must-have on your PC.
  5. NBA Live 2005: To all sports lovers, basketball fans precisely, NBA Live 2005 is without doubt the best version ever to be released for PC’s (yet, hopefully). I chose this very version of the game for obvious yet simple reasons: the new ones are too complicated, for no big reason, with several useless additional buttons that would only be actually effective on video game consoles, so the PC versions of those releases are pretty lame and boring. NBA 2003 is too easy and its gameplay is incredibly quick for some reason. NBA 2004 is much better but still lacks many cool features. The 2005 one simply combines all the great features into one, with a highly realistic in-game experience. Additionally, EA Sports’ FIFA of the same year is also, in my opinion, the best PC version, especially for LAN play.

Blizzard Entertainment had announced almost a year ago that the making of Diablo 3 had started, but they never set a precise date for its release, saying: “It’s too early to estimate Diablo III’s release date. As with all Blizzard Entertainment games, our goal is to create a game that is as fun, balanced, and polished as possible. We intend to take as much time developing Diablo III as is necessary to ensure the game meets our own high expectations and those of our players” as figured on the game’s website FAQ. This is both good and bad at the same time. It’s good because the game developers can take their time working on the new sequel’s awesome graphics and features so we’d have something really big to wait for. On the other hand, Diablo fans like would be really eager to get the game and don’t know when they actually will be able to.

Diablo is, in my opinion, still the best RPG game out there, I never seem to get bored of it! Each time I play it with a certain character, I find myself getting back to playing after a while with a different character. I’m quite confident the third sequel is going to be simply a bomb, with an all-new wicked environment design and graphics, much more improved heroes (moves, inventory and design wise) and a developed storyline, making Diablo 3 the ultimate epic role-playing game and the best part to be made yet.

Even though Blizzard didn’t officially announce the date for the highly anticipated game’s release, there is much speculation that it will be out somewhere between march and july of 2009. Similar estimated dates figured on many Diablo 3 fansites and forums. There’s also been a Theory about the game being released exactly on 09-09-09 by a guy who experimented on Diablo 2 LoD for two years and finally crashed the game and got the following code :

64 69 61 62 6c 6f 20 33 20 20 30 39 2f 30 39 2f 30 39

Now why that totally random number is important? Here’s the geek part: This exact number is Hex for : Diablo 3 09/09/09.  Even though this theory seems far from being evident, I still thought it was impressive. Anyhow, I think Diablo 3 is going to be a blast, and I’m really looking forward to this game.
