Hello.
Our article of the day is going to be really interesting, even though it might seem a bit ordinary and used up. Actually, it isn’t, it can never be. Guess why? Someday, you will leave …it will stay (The subject that is). The very subject of this article pushed me to write about it. In a simpler way, it is Time that forced me to think about writing something new, because it’s Time I updated my blog with a fresh text. Enough with blurry introductions already. While contemplating my near future yesterday night, more precisely my heading back to school in a few days, thoughts led me to think about, more like be reminded of the power of Time. It controls every action we take, every action we do not take (the decision of which being directly affected by it), and even every thought we process. Because, every tiny step you take is dependent of and conform to the measures of Time you have in mind for the day. Hell, you probably kept in count the time you’re going to spend reading this, before moving on to something else, that will consume even more and more time that you have and are spending.
How many times a day do you look at your watch / check the clock on the wall / check the time on your computer or phone, see how much is gone and how much you have left to do everything you’ve set to accomplish? (and that can be divided into scales of time spans, ranging from projects for a day or even an hour, to resolutions for a whole year or so). Thus, how many times a day do you realize you don’t have enough time to do this or that, and end up doing half the things you wanted to do? Guess what? You’ve just been owned by Time, and will always be.
And if you think about it, Time doesn’t just control helpless tiny humans like you and me, actually, it pretty much controls everything else around us. For the simplest of examples, Mother Nature itself follows the evolution of Time, and technically can’t completely happen without it, as passive and background-like as it is. Hell, even the inevitable Death itself, waits for Time to take its course. Man – long before since any of us was around here – has dubbed everything to God and said “He” has full control of everything around us. I’m not going there now anyway, but that gets me to my point: God? Who is God if you really think about it? Can God stop Time? Actually, the only thing that comes closest to God, in terms of definition and characteristics, is Time itself. What’s even better about Time is, it’s predictable, and it pretty much tells us about everything It is set to do.
And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun but it’s sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you’re older
Shorter of breath, and one day closer to death
Time is just like fine wine ; it keeps getting better (as in more valued) with Time, as ironic as that sounds . So many people expressed themselves regarding Time in so many, countless ways and styles. One of which is the Song Time, made by the immortal Pink Floyd, which I felt I had to mention since it was one of the essential elements that directly popped into my mind along with that subject. Their description of the Time factor in that song’s lyrics is really incredible (a part of which figures in the quote above), and if you’re a fan of psychedelic / progressive rock music and fine philosophy at the same time (and of course still haven’t heard this song), you’re in for a treat. Anyway, in conclusion, what I want to say is, this is a brief tribute to Time, and a tribute to everything discontinued, postponed or even canceled because of the (ironically) Limited Endless. By the way, I wonder how many times I mentioned the word Time in this article.
